The Extended Diploma, equivalent to 3 A Levels will prepare you for university and that dream job - an exciting, demanding and rewarding career in one of the essential uniformed public services. The course enables you to study in depth different aspects of our society and how the services respond to emergencies, war, conflict and terrorism. You will develop the leadership skills and participate in the physical training which will allow you to progress towards Degree level study or employment in the services. You will take part in team building activities and lots of physical training. Fitness requirements for the services are high and you will be expected to reach the standard of entry for the police service by the end of the course. You will be taught by highly qualified tutors who have many years' experience working in and developing excellent links with the services. You will meet sector speakers and go on visits to the Fire Service, Police Service (including HQ, Operations Support and Riot Training), the Army (Look at Life programmes), Royal Marines and Royal Navy. Residential trips have included London, New York and Cyprus.
