UPDATED 20170111 11:06:19

The Level 2 Functional Skills in ICT award is relevant to anyone needing to develop their ICT skills further. It supports progression towards further learning destinations and develop the skills needed for success in everyday life and the workplace. Learners will gain the fundamental applied skills in ICT with a particular focus on being able to apply these skills effectively in real situations. Achieving this qualification should increase candidates’ confidence and motivation, and the skills they gain will be valuable in the workplace or in any further learning. Learners will be able to use a computer or similar device confidently, and particularly have the ability to apply these skills to a variety of situations which is crucial no matter where or how learners plan to progress after achieving these qualifications. Learning is usually done on a one to one basis with your assessor, using a variety of learning materials to make it fun and relevant to your interests or career objectives. Every candidate has their own individual learning plan, to suit their needs and give them the confidence to progress. There is one online test to ensure learners have gained the ability to tackle a problem to achieve a purposeful outcome using ICT. The following areas will be covered and assessed: • Using ICT • Find and select information • Develop, present and communicate information Learners will meet with their assessor every couple of weeks and be given learning activities to complete between appointments. Assessment methods can include on-line or paper based assessments and observations by the assessor. RTS Training are pleased to be able to offer the Functional Skills courses either at our Sleaford Training Centre or a location of the learner’s choice.
