The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services is a qualification designed to give learners the opportunity to build both managerial and care skills. It fulfils the regulatory requirement for those looking to become managers of children's homes or adults residential and domiciliary services. For learners who work in health and social care and children and young people’s services listed below in the following roles: • Registered Managers • Managers • Assistant managers • Deputy managers • Senior care/support workers/supervisors • Co-ordinators • Team leaders There are a number of pathways and units which are selected to meet the individual employer requirements and typically could include: Pathways available: • Adults Management • Adults Residential Management Typical Units: • Use and develop systems that promote communication • Promote professional development • Champion equality, diversity and inclusion • Work in partnership in health and social care or children and young people's settings • Lead practice that supports positive outcomes for child and young person development • Lead and manage a team within a health and social care or children and young people's setting • Develop professional supervision practice in health and social care or children and young people's settings • Lead practice in promoting the well-being and resilience of children and young people • Undertake a research project within services for health and social care or children and young These are assessed via an online portfolio platform which allows learners and employers to access live progress updates and support. All learners will be visited by their assessor in the workplace at least every four weeks as well as internet and telephone support between meetings. Meetings take place on a one-to-one basis ensuring flexibility to the workplace needs.
