GCSE in English Language

This course follows the GCSE English Language offered by edexcel. Studying English Language will provide you with an awareness of how language is used. It is a wide academic subject which gives you the opportunity to write in a number of different styles and to explore both the spoken and written use of language in a social context. You will gain an insight into how language works right down to the level of individual sentences and word formations. English skills are at the core of written coursework, life skills and to seek future employment. The course will encompass • Writing: Fiction and Non Fiction • Spoken Language Task (Controlled Assessment) • Preparation for Exam • Speaking and Listening (three assessed tasks) • Knowledge about Language • Drafting and Revising. During the course, you will be guided to improve your accuracy in spelling, grammar and punctuation and to develop other language skills including vocabulary, sentence structure. The course will also develop your speaking and listening skills, which will include role play.
