A mix of practical recording sessions and theory of recording will be taught. You will also study units on programming, music business, music technology, acoustics, composition and audio principles. You will learn the skills needed for a modern music producer. Modules are assessed using a range of methods including practical assignments, presentations, written essays, projects and phase tests, completed both in College and at home. Although there is a slant towards practical work, there is also a significant academic element to this course, you need to be prepared for this as most students progress successfully to Degree level courses. This programme comprises 180 credits over 2 years and carries UCAS points You will need to work towards C Grades in Maths and English if you don't currently have these. Additionally, you will need to put in independent study outside of your timetable.
