The course consists of a variety of units designed to enhance personal skills and knowledge. Within this are 12 vocational units, Functional Skills, tutorials and a personal and professional development. The vocational units may include Conduct at work, Wellbeing and fitness for the public services, Public service group project, Public service careers, Improving health and fitness for entry into the uniformed public service, Personal skills for the public services, Practical teamwork in the public service, Map reading using ordnance survey maps, Planning and participating in an event, Public service project, Introduction to expedition skills and Working as a volunteer.
