The City and Guilds NVQ Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating Systems at Level 2 (6189) contains the subjects: Health and Safety, Basic Principles of Plumbing, Basic Processes of Plumbing, Cold Water systems, Hot water systems, Central Heating systems, Sanitation and drainage systems, during the qualification the candidate will study the 10 units and undertake 9 online examinations, they will also undertake a practical training programme at the end of which they will complete practical assessment tasks one of which will be the installation, testing and de-commissioning of a 3 piece bathroom sweet, boiler and heating system, all of the work throughout the qualification will be put together to produce a portfolio which will be assessed and verified by our fully trained and qualified assessors and Internal verifiers (IQA), the qualification will run on two days per week for 26 weeks (days depend on which start date is chosen), the hours of attendance are 8am to 5pm, for the remainder of the qualification (up to 52 weeks in total) the candidate will complete an NVQ portfolio in the workplace, they will be supported in this by one of our NVQ on-site Assessors, if they successfully complete and achieve this qualification and are working for a company / engineer who is Gas safe registered they can progress on to the City & Guilds NVQ Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating Gas-Fired water and central heating appliances Level 3
