This qualification is delivered 1 day per week for 52 weeks, the City and Guilds NVQ Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating Gas-Fired Water and Central Heating Appliances at Level 3 (6189) contains the following subjects: Health and Safety, Understand how to organise resources within the BSE sector, Planning and Design of Plumbing Systems, Complex Cold Water Systems, Complex Hot Water Systems, Complex Central Heating Systems, Gas ACS including CCN1 core gas safety, CENWAT boilers and water heaters, MET 2 gas meters, LPG CONGLP1 PD liquid petroleum gas in permanent dwellings, Complex Sanitation and Drainage Systems, Environmental Technologies, Understand Electrical controls and Wiring in Domestic Heating Systems, UVHS unvented hot water cylinders and WRAS water regulations, during the qualification the candidate will study the 9 units and undertake 7 online examinations plus a number of written assignments and projects they will also undertake a practical training programme at the end of which they will complete practical assessment tasks one of which will be the planning, installation, testing and de-commissioning of a Boiler, Heating system including underfloor heating, an Unvented Hot Water Cylinder plus all associated controls, Wiring and pipework, all of the work throughout the qualification will be put together to produce a portfolio which will be assessed and verified by our fully trained and qualified assessors and Internal verifiers (IQA), the hours of attendance are Fridays from 8am to 5pm, the candidate will also be working on an NVQ portfolio in the workplace including a log of the gas appliances and installations that they have worked on, they will be supported in this by one of our NVQ on-site assessors. by the end of the qualification the candidate will be a fully qualified Plumbing, Heating and Gas engineer
