The first year consists of AS and A2 Mathematics and in the second year AS and A2 Further Mathematics is studied. In the second year, the course builds on the techniques learnt in A2 Mathematics and provides an introduction to new concepts such as complex numbers and matrices. Applications of mathematics are also studied in the form of mechanics and statistics. Further Mathematics is greatly valued by many universities and is highly recommended for admission to courses in mathematics, physics, engineering and computer science.
