This course is designed as a follow on course from our Introduction to Calligraphy and will give students the opportunity to explore and go beyond the basic principles of letterform. This five week course will cover: - Tools of the trade and colour wheels - Colour, style and couture contemporary designs - Art and letter forms of beautiful writing - A folding book of your choice - Introduction to traditional copperplate script - Illustrated letters and capitals - Plain and ornamental lettering - Etiquette of stationery - Sign calligraphy - Elegant envelopes - Monograms and writing on different mediums - The opportunity to design your own project; e.g. written poem, recipe, menus, concertina book, mount board, wedding stationery or invitations, or a song written and framed.This will be hands on course, with individual help, demonstrations and advice.Students may wish to attend other art courses offered by the college - please browse the website.

Please bring paper, pencil, eraser, ruler, and reading glasses (if required) to the first class. Please also bring any calligraphy pens and ink only if you already have them.
