This qualification aims to raise awareness of dementia and how to care for people suffering with dementia. There are 3 mandatory units that are required to be successfully completed and they are: -Understanding dementia and the person centred approach to administering medication -Understand the factors that can influence communication and behaviour in the context of dementia -Understand equality, diversity and inclusion and the benefits of engaging in activities in social care Learners must successfully demonstrate their achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the units.Through guided learning using the student support material, one-to-one sessions with the tutor, group tutorials and independent study.Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to: -NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness -NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Working in Mental Health -NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care -NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care -NVQ in Health and Social Care -VRQ in Equality and Diversity -VRQ in Dementia
