Small Sewing Projects

We will work through a series of small sewing projects that will help you select suitable fabrics, measure, cut and construct items using a sewing machine. We will insert zips, create bias binding and experiment with simple patchwork techniques. The first session will include a 'How to use our sewing machines' refresher. This course is for people who are new to sewing who are enthusiastic about making items with step-by-step guidance. PLEASE NOTE - YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED OUR FREE BASIC SEWING MACHINE TASTER BEFORE ENROLLING ON THIS COURSE. You will need to bring Scissors for fabric, Scissors for paper, Tape measure, Soluble blue marker (available from Dunelm Mill, Hook & Eye approx.£2.50), Hand sewing needles,Pins, Hand sewing needles, Good quality sewing threads in cream, black & red and Spectacles for close work
