The Team leading framework is designed to meet the skills needs of employers of all sizes across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. It will attract new talent into management and will help to up-skill the workforce to replace those who leave or retire. Intermediate apprentices will work in job roles such as team/section leaders, floor managers, helpdesk managers and trainee supervisors. It is ideally suited for those who would benefit from training and support to be more effective in their role, to apply their knowledge and skills and to bring tangible benefits to their workplace. The qualification aims to support participants to develop the core competences needed by today’s team leaders. This includes how to motivate their teams and get the best from them, gain confidence in tackling difficult issues such as underperformance and become more effective leaders. Participants gain the opportunity to create a portfolio of evidence showing how they are applying team leading skills within their workplace. The mandatory units focus on managing their own personal development, developing working relationships with colleagues and improving their communication.
