This qualification in Business Administration is for people who want to work in administrative support roles in public or private sector organisations, or people who want to improve their administrative skills. A qualification in Business and Administration can help you succeed in a support role in any size or type of organisation. It allows learners to learn, develop and practice the skills required in employment. This is a work based qualification, therefore learners must be in employment in a customer service area. These roles include: • Secretary • Receptionist • Administrator • Personal assistant Learners will be supported by their nominated assessor and gather evidence of competence and knowledge through observations, online test, research assignments, work products, professional discussion and reflection. Units are selected to meet the individual employer requirements and typically could include: • Communication in a business environment • Principles of providing administrative services • Principles of business document production and information management • Understand employer organisations • Manage personal performance and development • Develop working relationships with colleagues • Use the telephone and voicemail systems • Meet and welcome visitors in a business environment • Manage diary systems • Produce business documents • Store and retrieve information • Produce minutes of meetings • Handle mail • Provide reception services • Deliver customer service • Word processing software • Spreadsheet software These are assessed via an online portfolio platform which allows learners and employers to access live progress updates and support. All learners will be visited by their assessor in the workplace at least every four weeks as well as internet and telephone support between meetings.
