Italian Beginners

This course is for people who want to 'get by' in Italian speaking countries and who have an interest in the language and culture. The course is for complete Beginners or for those who may know some vocabulary but are unable to put a sentence together. Topics: Greetings; personal; professional and family details; numbers; identifying objects and places; ordering drinks and snacks or a meal at a restaurant; shopping; directions in a town and names of buildings / shops; booking a hotel accommodation. Language Structures; Nouns and Gender. Verbs endings in the present tense. Introduction of past tense; reflexive verbs; prepositions & pronouns.

Name: Italian Beginners Qualification title: Non regulated provision, Entry Level, Other Languages, Literature and Culture Qualification type: Assessment The course is structured over 25 sessions of 2 hours (term time only) with class sizes of 10-16 students. The 4 language skills will be practiced (listening, speaking, reading and writing), with an emphasis on speaking and listening. Reading and writing practiced more as part of homework / independent learning activities. A minimum of 2 hours of independent learning / homework is recommended. This may include: online activities from a particular website, learning new vocabulary, writing a short paragraph, verb endings; reinforcement of topics learnt in class.
