This qualification is designed to introduce you to counselling skills. These skills will be useful for roles that involve working with people, but achievement of this certificate will not qualify you to practice as a counsellor. To do this you will need to progress to higher level qualifications. The course is made up of 4 mandatory units: Using Counselling Skills, Introduction to Counselling Skills Theories, Diversity and Ethics in the Use of Counselling Skills, Counselling Skills and Personal Development

Name: Counselling Level 2 Certificate Qualification title: Certificate in Counselling Skills (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment There will be group sessions held each week for 33 weeks, split over 3 College terms. The sessions will include a range of activities including: presentation and discussion of theory; self-awareness & development; acquisition of listening and counselling. Throughout the year you will be required to complete a range of written assignments outside of the classroom. Together these assignments and work generated in the group sessions will make up the portfolio of evidence on which you will be assessed. Learners will also complete a weekly journal.
