Drawing and Painting Beginners/Improvers

This course is for anyone who wants to learn to draw and paint or to just improve their drawing and painting techniques. The course is varied and aims to improve students' observational skills, eye-to-hand co-ordination and dexterity.

Name: Drawing and Painting Beginners/Improvers Qualification title: Non regulated provision, Entry Level, Crafts, Creative Arts and Design Qualification type: Assessment The course is designed to introduce the student gradually to methods of working, beginning with drawing and moving on to painting. Specialist subjects are re-visited from time to time in order to monitor progress. Homework is voluntary but there are occasions when some research is needed before beginning a specific project. Entry requirements

Generally speaking students are expected to provide their own materials, to begin with a selection of pencils ( B, 2B and a 6B to begin with), rubbers and an A3 pad. As the course progresses, students will need to buy some paints and brushes. We do sell a small selection of art materials. When large sized paper is necessary for the planned work it will be provided.
