WHO IS IT SUITABLE FOR? This VCQ is an integral part of IMI SSC Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship Framework (Light Vehicle Route). Therefore learners (normally aged 16-25) who are keen to build a career in the industry can take this VCQ as part of the Apprenticeship framework. ABOUT This L2 qualification is designed to provide a standardised approach for the delivery and assessment of the competence and knowledge requirements. This VCQ also forms the integral component of the IMI SSC Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship framework (for Light Vehicle). Learners are required to demonstrate all of the evidence requirements, learning outcomes, assessment criteria through workplace evidence. Full guidance documents and assessment records are supplied by IMI. PROGRESSION This qualification forms the knowledge component (technical certificate) of the IMI SSC Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship framework (for the Light Vehicle). When an apprentice has achieved a L2 Apprenticeship, they can then choose to broaden their education and training in other ways from this firm base. ASSESSMENT The knowledge component of this qualification is also independently assessed via online testing. The tests are mapped to each knowledge unit's learning outcomes and assessment criteria to ensure coverage. These tests are marked electronically by IMI.
