Art History - A Brief History of Fresco Painting

Explore the luminous beauty of fresco from classical antiquity to the Renaissance.This course will give you a world view of this vibrant art form. From Ancient Egypt to Greece, India to Sri Lanka, Italy to Qasr Amra, Romania to Mexico, a study of the captivating traces that artists have left on the wall of the world. It will include study of influences, technique and narrative. Sessions will be varied and interactive with extensive use of projected images, video, music, books and internet and learners will be encouraged to contribute to the sessions through discussion, group work, sharing experiences and reviews of exhibitions
