Italian Beginners

An introduction to the language and culture of the country. Learners will acquire the confidence to communicate in basic everyday situations. Topics covered include Introducing Yourself and Others, Ordering Food and Drink, General Shopping and Understanding Prices, Booking Accommodation, Making Enquiries About Transport and Events, Asking the Way and Understanding Simple Directions, Telling the Time, Expressing Likes and Dislikes. Basic vocabulary and grammar structures will be introduced, together with an awareness of the culture, traditions and geographical regions of the country. The emphasis of the course will be on acquiring speaking and listening skills, and on learner participation. By the end of the course, learners will be equipped with the language skills required to communicate at a basic level, with confidence.
