Foundation Diploma in Art and Design Level 3

The course is predominantly practical and is made up of seven units, delivered over three stages. It is designed to provide you with the knowledge and experience required for the demands of a degree course or career in art and design. The foundation base studio offers a unique learning environment, providing a personal space for each student, allowing you more direct contact with your teachers and the opportunity to work independently; an experience similar to university. We know what degree courses are looking for and the work you create will be exactly what interviewers want to see. We offer a maximum of 18 places allowing every student a more personal experience. We will get you ready for your career in art and design by doing the following things: Practical skills and exploration of materials, techniques and processes practical skills and experimentation are still the basis for success in the art and design world. You will be taught how to draw, including working with a life model, how to use a sketchbook, 3D design thinking and making, printmaking, photography and work with digital media. You will spend a lot of time experimenting with ideas and materials, developing and practising your skills. There are also opportunities for workshops in fashion and photography.
