Throughout the course you may have the opportunity to work at a major animal visitor centre, a grooming parlour or welfare sanctuary. You will also demonstrate your practical skills in our high quality college based outdoor enclosures and exotic animal accommodation areas. You will learn about a wide range of animal related subjects including: Year 1 - Practical animal husbandry skills - Animal welfare and ethics - Work experience in the animal sector - Animal first aid - Emergency first aid - Animal health and diseases - Animal behaviour - Functional or GCSE maths and English skills (if required) - Employability, supervisory and team working skills Year 2 - Animal biology - Investigative research project - Functional or GCSE maths and English skills (if required) - Employability, supervisory and team working skills - Work experience in the animal sector - Plus three optional units
