The programme is comprised of six modules over two years: * Introduction to Education and Training in the Learning and Skills Sector * Theories, Principles and Models in Education and Training * Developing Teaching, Learning and Assessment in Education and Training * The Teacher as Professional * The Teacher as Investigator * The Teacher as Creative Specialist While on programme you will have lectures, workshops and tutorials. The University of Chester also offer masterclasses and continuous professional development opportunities. Practical experience in teaching allows you to gain competence in planning teaching and learning, and in working with learners both in formal classrooms and in student-centred learning situations, such as drop-in study centres. During the course you undertake project work, such as developing new course materials. Academic work includes critically examining creativity in teaching, subject specialist related studies, quality and professional issues.
