Introductory ESOL

This course will provide a basic introduction to the English language for adults where English is not their first language. It will cover spoken English focusing on recognition and pronunciation of words/phrases as well as basic written English and grammar. The course will provide you with the tools to confidently communicate in English with other people. The course will be delivered in a classroom environment through a variety of tutor led and group based activities. All materials will be provided This course will not provide you with a formal qualification, but you will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course which you can show to prospective employers. There are a number of options open to you at the end of this course including: Applying for work, Enrolling on an accredited English course, Enrolling on another adult education course to improve your skills further. These options will be explored during the course and you will have the opportunity to discuss your ideas with an adviser from the National Careers Service.
