Cyber Safety for Parents

This course will provide a basic introduction for parents to the risks children come into contact with through internet use, social media and other online activities. It will cover common privacy settings, fraudulent scams, cyber bullying/radicalisation and investigate strategies which can be implemented to keep children and the family safe online. The course will be delivered in a classroom environment through a variety of tutor led and group based activities. All materials will be provided, however you are welcome to bring your personal phone or computer/tablet. This course will not provide you with a formal qualification, but you will receive a certificate upon successful completion At the end of this course you will be able to identify some of the common risks associated with online activity and how to protect yourself and your family from these. Options to continue to learn more about this will be discussed during the course.
