All the courses are based on the ESOL core curriculum and involve the development of Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing although the focus for this course is on Spoken English. You will need to attend classes regularly and will be assessed throughout the course. You will also have the opportunity to achieve the OCNER Gateway Award in English, which is a nationally recognised qualification. This qualification can be used as part of your Citizenship application. The courses are part-time and involve attendance for 5 hours a week. Courses are offered at Forest Gate Learning Zone, Little Ilford Learning Zone, North Woolwich Learning Zone, Gainsborough Road Learning Centre and Beckton Globe Centre.
