The course has fifteen units to be completed. They vary from Protection & Safeguarding, Dealing with loss & Grief to Disability Awareness and Introduction to the Autistic Spectrum. It also includes overall knowledge about Communication, Duty of Care and Equality and Inclusion. Case studies are used to demonstrate application of knowledge. Furthermore, work placement is provided for two weeks in the year. However, this can be continued if it is negotiated with the organisation, or you can find your own voluntary work placement to increase your employability skills. GCSE-Retakes You will be retaking your GCSE Maths and English, if you did not achieve Grade C in any of these subjects, as part of your course to enable you to progress onto Level-3 qualifications. Work Experience opportunity As part of the programme you will conduct a two week work placement in a Health and Social Care environment. This will allow you to apply your theoretical knowledge into a practical work setting. Multiple assignments will also be completed in relation to your work placement Enrichment Activities A range of Enrichment activities are incorporated within the programme. Examples of Enrichment activities conducted are sport activities, workshops, outings and debates. There is also the opportunity to request other enrichment activities that you have an interest in. I - Learning Sessions This is additional time embedded in your programme for independent study. This time is used to work through assignments, complete homework activities and conduct wider reading and research to assist learning. Support Tutorials Group and one to one tutorials are set up on the programme to further assist you with successfully completing the course. Support tutorials are at flexible times to meet your needs.
