BTEC Advanced Subsidiary Diploma in Health & Social Care - Diploma

This is a one year full time Diploma course that provides you with the opportunity to seek entry to higher education courses in a range of subject areas. The course integrates a broad range of modules within the Health and Social Care curriculum to create a diverse programme of study. The modules explored during this year include Health Education, Understanding Psychological and Sociological Perspectives, Autonomy and Physiology, Counselling Skills and many others. You will also have the opportunity to take part in a work experience placement within the Health and Social Care sector. This will be assessed as part of your qualification. The course is delivered over 37 weeks where you are assessed on 11 level 3 units. While completing and passing course, you will be expected to meet Assessment deadlines set and also maintain an attendance and punctuality of 90% or above. Work Experience opportunity As part of the programme you will conduct a two week work placement in a Health and Social Care environment. This will allow you to apply your theoretical knowledge into a practical work setting. An assignment will also be completed in relation to your work placement Enrichment Activities A range of Enrichment activities are incorporated within the programme. Examples of Enrichment activities conducted are sport activities, workshops, outings and debates. There is also the opportunity to request other enrichment activities that you have an interest in. I - Learning Sessions This is additional time embedded in your programme for independent study. This time is used to work through assignments, complete homework activities and conduct wider reading and research to assist learning. Support Tutorials Group and one to one tutorials are set up on the programme to further assist you with successfully completing the course. Support tutorials are at flexible times to meet your needs.
