Beginners will be taught 3 basic hand building techniques use in pottery - coiling, slabbing and pinching and will be introduced to basic throwing techniques towards the end of the course. As the course progresses, more advanced skills will be taught including throwing and turning and learners will be encouraged to work on their own independent projects. Learners will also be taught about glazing and decorating their work and will have group demonstrations and individual tuition. Health and safety issues will be covered.
