Aims of the Course: To provide basic knowledge on where to access equipment and aids for hearing loss. To provide an understanding of less visible lip shapes and a chance to practice lip reading. Learning Goals: Identify how to get equipment and aids and disabled rail passes; Identify which lip shapes are less easy to see; Identify which consonants are less visible and had practise using them. Lip read everyday phrases; Demonstrate different coping strategies for day to day situationsAbout the Course: This is a mixed ability class where students with hearing loss work with the tutor to gain confidence knowledge and ability to create coping strategies for social situations. No previous knowledge/experience requiredFor the first session you will need to buy/bring: A small mirror; A4 folder and penThis course could lead to: Further lip reading classes; Makaton Signing for Babies
