The course has been designed to equip students with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success in employment as a professional performer or for progression to a degree course at university. Students can follow two different pathways; Acting or Dance and study a variety of units. The three mandatory units are, Creative Arts Professional Practice, Creative Research Skills and Preparation and Process and Production in the Creative Arts. The Acting pathway consists of acting for camera, acting for musical theatre, applied contemporary performance practice, classical acting, musical theatre performance, performing arts workshop leadership, research project, movement for the actor, singing for musical theatre, theatre directing and vocal method in context. The Dance pathway consists of tap dance technique and performance, jazz dance technique and performance, research project, site specific performance, small scale touring in the performing arts, choreography of group performance, choreography for solo performance, classical ballet background and technique, classical ballet development and analysis, commercial dance, contemporary dance technique, contemporary dance techniques and performance, dance and health and dance for camera.
