This programme is for students who wish to pursue a career in Media, Television or Film. Jobs within the Media industry include: Editor, Director, Producer, Scriptwriter, Sound Operator, Cameraman, Studio Floor Manager, Researcher, Journalist, TV Presenter, Radio Presenter, Radio Producer, Script Editor, Script Supervisor, Director of Photography, Post Production, Production Coordinator, Production Assistant, VT Operator. A BTEC 90 Credit Diploma is a practical, work-related course. Students learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. Theoretical units comprise of at least 50% of the entire course including research, analysis and reflection of different moving image texts. The course is made up of a range of units covering different aspects of media production, including research technique, video editing, single camera drama, understanding media industry, critical approaches to media products and music video production. You will learn about media industries, production methods and the audiences they relate to. You will work in teams as well as individually, and will develop a portfolio of practical and written work.
