STC (Specialist Trade Courses) have successfully been providing education, training and recruitment services nationally since 2004. Our two-week courses are ideal for beginners who want to develop all the basic skills needed to become a professional. Some practical experience and aptitude is necessary but not essential if you are keen to learn. Suitable for those with little or no experience, for those considering wall and floor tiling as a career: Our Professional Basic includes customer care, business start up, pricing and estimating and more technical elements of tiling. Week 2 expands on your new skills gained in week 1. The course covers everything in the one week course as well as: •Setting out a floor •Hand written estimates •Completing a brick bond project •Framing a window using mitre tile trim •Business start up support and advice •Good housekeeping You will start week 2 with setting out a floor, laying the floor and grouting. You will cover hand written estimates and completing a brick bond project. You will also work on tiling and framing a window using mitre tile trim. Business start up advice which includes self employment and tax returns, book keeping, understanding marketing and advertising techniques. How to price and estimate jobs and issue quotes to customers. By completion of week two you will have covered all the technical aspects of wall and floor tiling.
