Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills

Anyone who would like to develop their use of counselling skills for use in either work or in a personal capacity. These may be learners who wish to progress towards further qualifications, or learners who wish to study this programme in order to complement other programmes (eg health and social care; children's care, learning and development; voluntary and community work). It is not suitable for people looking for psychological assistance to deal with personal issues. You must hold the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills or an equivalent certificate from an alternative awarding body. You will be required to attend an initial assessment and discuss your enrolment prior to enrolling with your tutor. You will be introduced to the use of counselling skills in everyday life and work and some of the approaches that underpin the use of these skills through practical sessions, i.e. simulating a situation in order to practice counselling skills, case studies, group work, research and smaller group work and tutorials. There will be some self development work and you will be expected to keep an on-going reflective journal. NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Counselling Skills covering the following units: 1. Developing Counselling Skills; 2. Theoretical Approaches in the use of Counselling Skills; 3. Working ethically with Counselling Skills; 4. Counselling Skills and Diversity; 5. Counselling Skills and Personal Development You can progress from Level 3 to either a Professional Diploma in Counselling or Foundation Degree. Advice will be given by your tutor. Note pad and a file to use as your portfolio.
