German Improvers Award

Anyone who has a basic grasp of German and would like to increase their knowledge and understanding of the German language and culture. You will need to have completed the Get started and Post Beginners German courses or equivalent of 40 hours learning. A range of speaking, listening, reading and writing tasks and activities. You will cover a wide range of topics covering the present, past and future. These include talking about personal information, future plans and past activities, giving advice and making arrangements for travel and holidays. By doing a range of listening and speaking activities, tasks and games. You can expect to carry out a range of speaking practice to develop your confidence in these skills in a range of situations. You will work in pairs, small groups and individually. You will be encouraged to carry out some activities on-line. Your tutor will carry out continual assessment through a range of activities. You will build up a portfolio of evidence, including a recording of your voice in German. There is not an external exam with this course. ABC Level 1 Award in Listening and Speaking in German. Yes; German conversation at level 2. Your tutor will give you further information about appropriate progression routes. Paper and folder, a paper or electronic dictionary will be useful. Further information about this and other suggested resources will be given by your tutor at the beginning of the course.
