Anyone interested in learning the skills to confidently use a sewing machine and progress onto other sewing projects. None. You will learn the use of a sewing machine, its applications and basic maintenance. You will also learn about different fabrics and how to use them. You will learn a range of beginners sewing techniques such as sewing simple hems and seams, applique and basic pockets. By the end of the course you will be able to make either a simple garment or an item for around the home. Practical lessons, demonstrations and one-to-one support from the tutor Progress will be monitored on a weekly basis with one-to-one discussion beteen the tutor and yourself. Your tutor will be able to advise further. Some equipment and materials will need to be provided by you.
