This course is suitable for those who want to develop singing skills in a swing/jazz style, mostly through group singing but with a non-compulsory option to also try solo and duo songs. You do not need any formal qualifications to do the course. This 3 hour workshop will involve you singing swinging songs from the Great American Songbook, but also applying the rules of swing to more modern songs. You will learn some of the principles of what makes songs swing. You will learn by singing as a group, but also with an option to try solo/duo singing if you wish. You will listen to and analyse recordings of great swing singers and try to adapt some of the tricks of their trade into your own renditions. Your tutor will continually observe and support you and give you regular feedback about your progress. None Your tutor will be able to advise at the end of the course. If there is sufficient interest, we will attempt to establish a regular singing group. None. Enthusiasm and curiosity are all you need.
