LEVEL 4 CERT IN EDUCATION AND TRAINING

The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training is a first stage teaching qualification that will give candidates a fundamental understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer in relation to legislation, equality, diversity, inclusivity and meeting the needs of learners. It includes the use of initial and diagnostic assessments and requires candidates to plan and deliver inclusive teaching and learning, carry out assessments of and for learning and use resources effectively. The course will be delivered through various environments. These include class-based taught sessions (3 hrs per week) the use of a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and also Independent Learning. Candidates should anticipate the need for home-based study throughout the duration of the course. The qualification will be assessed by a combination of written assignments, reflective journal entries, class-based discussion and observations of teaching and/or training.
