IT Skills for Employment

IT Skills for Employment enables you to progress at your own pace using hand-outs and other materials in a workshop environment. Individual attention from the tutor will be given in addition to occasional group sessions. Your tutor will help you to manage your learning in a structured and targeted way helping you achieve your goals. Learners who wish to gain a qualification can work on units which are part of the ITQ level 1 or 2 qualification. This course covers a range of computer skills that are widely used in the workplace such as Word Processing Spreadsheets Presentations Internet and email. What experience or skills do I need to join this course?Ideally you should have completed an entry level course such as Introduction to Computers and/or Moving on with Computers before joining this course. Your tutor will guide you towards the appropriate level for you. For the first session you will need:Pen and notepad and plenty of enthusiasm Additional costs and/or resources:A memory stick is useful. How will I know how I am getting on?Your progress and achievements will be recognised and recorded throughout your course in a number of ways.For example:Feedback from tutorAssignments set by tutorLearning record Accreditation: This is a non-accredited course but learners may be able to achieve a Unit/Award Certificate if they wish to.
