A course for new childminders who want to get to grips with the Ofsted requirements for monitoring the progress of children in their care. You must be either a registered childminder, or about to be submit your registration, to attend this course. This session looks at the requirements under section 1 of the eyfs statutory guidance to plan challenging and enjoyable experiences. You will be able to identify how to observe and plan for the stages of development of each child in the 7 areas of learning and development including the 17 early learning goals and how to discuss with parents/careers if there is a cause for concern. (EYFS ref 1.7). Please bring your copy of Development Matters to the class An interactive session with lots of discussion and practical advice. You will be able to:Understand and identify 7 areas of learning and development from the EYFS Statutory guidance, including the 17 Early Learning GoalsUnderstand how and when to observe a child, plan and track their progressIdentify how to move children onto their next steps of Learning and DevelopmentGain more knowledge of child development and ages and stagesKnow how best to work in partnership with other professionalsKnow how to meet the requirement for completing the written summary of a child's development in the prime areas, also known as the "2 year check". No as this is only one session. No qualification but you will get a letter confirming you have attended.
