Who is the course for: If you love dance and the performing arts, this course is for you. You will develop skills as a performer and will gain the qualifications necessary to enter higher education or work in the industry. Course Content: Acting pathway - course units include: Acting technique Vocal skills National Theatre Connections tour Drama improvisation Musical theatre Singing Physical theatre Classical theatre Contemporary theatre Movement skills Stage combat Radio techniques. Dance pathway - course units include: Ballet technique Contemporary dance Urban Jazz Dance improvisation and choreography Group and individual repertoire Musical theatre Acting technique Vocal skills. Study Methods: For each project and its content will be clearly outlined by your tutor in the form of a brief. In a vocational context, that aims to replicate and prepare you for real life situations in the industry, you will be assessed through rehearsals, practical performances and written coursework. You will also be expected to independently research and rehearse towards performances and projects. How is the course assessed: This course is modular with assessments that involve performances each term and coursework that aids progression and development throughout the programme. Where next - Further Studies: You can progress from the Level 3 Diploma onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma and then onto a Level 5 HND Diploma course or undergraduate degree at university or drama school. Where next - Job Opportunities: Successful students can go on to work in the industry as a performer (stage/TV), choreographer, teacher of performing arts, dance administrator, entertainer.
