ITQ is the leading IT qualification offered by City and Guilds and is suitable for anybody who uses IT whether at home or at work. The flexible structure and assessment methods of the City and Guilds ITQ means that it is it suitable for those with beginner, intermediate, advanced or professional skills. City and Guilds ITQ helps build skills and confidence in a range of IT areas including Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, Desktop Publishing, Presentation skills and Website Design. As well as building IT skills, if you are currently looking for work, the City and Guilds ITQ can also help you to become more employable with working knowledge of current IT programs such as: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook in both 2007 and 2010 versions and FrontPage 2003. This level 1 qualification is suitable for complete beginners and those wanting to refresh their skills and will provide the learner with basic skills and knowledge that could lead to further education in IT or related areas, as well as underpinning other educational sectors to higher levels of competency for those required to work independently or supervise others. For those moving into their first job role the ITQ can provide the confidence to work effectively with ICT and deal with tasks that are straightforward or routine. The Certificate for IT Users (ITQ) (QCF) Level 1 requires 13 Credits. To achieve the credit value students are required to successfully complete one mandatory module and then to collect additional credits from optional modules including; IT User Fundamentals, Word Processing Software, Spreadsheet Software, Database Software, Using the Internet, Presentation Software, Using Email, Desktop Publishing and website design.
