The Level 3 BTEC qualification is a course designed with the technical person in mind. It combines both practical ability and the ability to solve problems, alongside using new e learning tools such as Blogging and Cloud Storage to presenting work portfolios. This course enables students to evaluate a range of skills including presentation skills, written communication, hardware and software knowledge and advanced ICT practitioner skills. It will help build practical and theoretic skills and will allow students to gain an understanding of the role of a modern computer systems expert. The students will be able to work on computers at the school, thus allowing them hands on experience. Any practical work carried out by students can be logged and used for assessment purposes. Students taking this course will learn how to understand the IT industry including communication and job seeking skills, assessing and recommending data management systems for a client, planning and developing a social media campaign for a business and developing websites for a given audience. The course is ideally suited to someone looking to pursue a career in IT technical support, IT in business or looking to study an IT course at University.
