This course develops the basic skills needed to care for a baby or young child including those who want to develop parenting and life skills, including special educational needs or where English is an additional language. There is a choice of units from setting a routine through to healthy lifestyles and the importance of play and learning.Areas of study include: Explanation of the verbs used in the Assessment Criteria Respecting and valuing children Children's play and leisure activities in the community Confidence building for the young child through play Listening to and talking with a young child Individual rights and responsibilities Eating healthily Responsibilities of new parents Providing a safe and hygienic environment for a young child Routines for a young child Healthy lifestyle
