On successful completion of this course you will achieve the full Award at Level 1 in Hospitality & Catering and receive a certificate from Open Awards. This course will develop your skills in the Hospitality & Catering Industry in preparation for work. What will I learn? Basic Food Preparation and Cooking This is a practical unit which will help you to develop your skills and understanding of the principles of cooking and how to prepare, cook and present simple dishes Teamwork Skills This will develop your skills to enable you to contribute to the setting of team and individual goals, your role and responsibilities within the team and how to undertake and review team activities. Developing Own Interpersonal Skills This unit will help to prepare you for working in your chosen sector and promote self improvement. This will include; identifying your own strengths and weaknesses, how to recognise stress and developing an understanding of; time management, types of criticism, confident behaviour, what is meant by 'body language' and the difference between aggressive, passive and assertive behaviour.
