Entry 1 Award In ESOL Skills for Life (writing)

This course is for adults of any age who live, temporarily or permanently, in this country and do not have English as a first language. This course will help you with your everyday English.This is a 10 week course. At the end of the course you will take an Entry Level 1 ESOL Writing exam.The lessons will be 2¾ hours on two days a week. There will be an optional third lesson on Fridays at an extra cost. Courses will not run on Bank Holidays or Staff Development days.

You can use the College website (e-study) to help you learn English using our exercises, games and quizzes for your level.There will be exam practice in the course to help you prepare for the Writing exam. You will have an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) with learning goals just for you, to help you improve your writing.You will need to take an exam as part of the course. Entry requirements

You need: • An English - English dictionary• A pen and paper for class work.• The Internet to help you do work on your ownThe fee will include exam costs. You can take an extra lesson on Fridays. This will cost extra. If the College cancels courses, the fees you paid will be refunded. If you cancel your course a week before it starts, you will get a refund but you will have to pay an administration fee. If you get Jobseeker's Allowance or Employment Support Allowance (Work Related Activity Group only), Universal Credit (because of unemployment and are mandated to undertake skills training) or another state benefit and are currently unemployed, you may be eligible to full fee remission for this course.
