Level 3 Access to HE - Health

Passionate about a career in nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy, social work or other health related profession? Then the Access to HE Diploma (Health) is for you. The widely recognised Access to Higher Education Diplomas are designed for adults wishing to be accepted onto a higher education course but otherwise lack the necessary qualifications to gain entry. Delivered over the span of a single year the Access to HE Diploma (Health) will provide you the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to succeed at University. This Diploma consists of 60 credits, 45 graded credits at level 3 and 15 ungraded credits at level 2 or level 3. Modules are a choice from the following: Biology; Health Studies; Psychology; Skills for Learning. The course is 12 months duaration (January start), 15 hours per week, timetabled around school drop off and pick up times. Sessions will be delivered between 9.30am - 2.30pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. For students needing to retake either Maths or English GCSE these sessions can be delivered during the day or evening. Prices will be made available on request and subject to funding eligibility. If you are 24+ you can apply for a 24+ loan which will help with the costs of the course. Any outstanding 24+ Advanced Learning Loan balances will be 'written off' once you complete a higher education course.* This means you do not have to repay it. By applying for the 24+ loan you may also be eligible for a Bursary fund which would help towards any living costs etc. (*The higher education course must be eligible for student finance). The awarding Body for this course is OCR. Progression Route: A degree in a related discipline. You are advised to check that the Access to HE course is accepted as entry to your chosen university course.
