The course is designed to support learners with Mental Health issues, disabilities or Learrning difficulties prepare for the world of work through skills development. In preparation for work, learners develop their soft skills around employability which includes communication skills, getting along in the work place, telephone techniques, how to present themselves in a professional manner, compiling a CV, how to approach employers, successful and focussed job searching skills, how to utilise social media to support their job search, understanding body language, confidence building, self-efficacy, understanding how employers recruit, how to complete application forms, analysing vacancies, budgeting and money management and identifying suitable progression routes. Throughout the course, ICT for life and work is embedded and each learner will access information using Netbooks, laptops or PC''s. Learners also receive 121 support and guidance from their tutor, an IAG from a Level 4 qualified practitioner, participate in employer visits if appropriate and may have the opportunity to participate in a voluntary work experience placement if appropriate.
