Our French Conversation courses give you the opportunity to consolidate and extend your knowledge of the language and culture. Suggestions and ideas will be discussed at the beginning of the course During the course you will revise and extend your understanding of grammar and vocabulary to enable you to express opinions and ideas increase your vocabulary and develop language accuracy to suit a range of everyday situations at a more complex level develop your fluency and listening skills During the course you will take part in varied activities. These are designed to help you develop your skills and use the language effectively. You will work individually, in pairs and in small groups, using a variety of learning methods and resources such as news reports, audio and video clips.

Name: French: conversation Qualification title: Non regulated Community Learning provision, Other Languages, Literature and Culture Qualification type: Assessment Initial assessment will identify your skills level at the start of the course and there will be a variety of activities to assess progress throughout the course. You'll complete an individual learning plan (ILP) and there will be opportunities for you to discuss your progress and aims with your tutor. The tutor will also provide written feedback. Entry requirements

You'll need a pen, paper and a ring-binder for storing notes, hand-outs and homework. At the start of the course your tutor will advise you of any other resources that might be required. Please don't purchase anything before the course. You may like to bring a drink or refreshments In order to join this course you should: be able to understand and respond in the language in a variety of situations (work, personal, social,) be able to exchange simple view/opinions have a good grasp of grammar such as comparatives, superlatives, conjunctions, present, past and future tenses. Will I need to do anything in my own time? Yes. You will learn more effectively if you are able to practice and revise between the sessions. Your tutor will give you homework tasks to help consolidate and extend the work done in the weekly session. You will also be encouraged to make use of other resources such as internet websites etc for self-study activities.
