BTEC Dance / Acting Course Content We offer a range of level 3 BTEC options which include a range of different sized BTEC qualifications including a Extended Certificate and a foundation diploma. During this course you will take part in workshops and practical activities in the studio and theatre. You will also work with professional artists in workshop situations and take part in trips to industry and get the opportunity to go see shows and a range of different performances throughout the year. Core units: These are compulsory and must be completed: Investigating Practitioners' Work Developing Skills and Techniques for Live Performance Optional units include: DANCE Jazz Dance Technique Street Dance Technique Contemporary Dance Technique Physical Theatre Techniques Movement in Performance Site specific Performance Choreography for Live Performance Healthy Dancer ACTING Site specific Performance Screen Acting Improvisation Acting styles Children's Theatre Performance Audio Performance Theatre Directing Physical Theatre Techniques Assessment Your assessment is spread over the course of the year and could involve live performance, written assignments, presentations, practical assessments and witness statements. Your assessment will be a mixture of internally assessed work and externally assessed work. There are no exams! Progression This course will enable you to progress to a higher education degree or dance school or conservatoire. You may also chose to enter a specialist area of employment within the performing arts industry. Many of our ex-students are now working in the industry.
